In Response To: A clean surgical mask retains 10% of covid particles (MikeD)

People have been programmed to get in fights at schools and take off their pants at school board meetings over mask and vaccine mandates, but where are the parents and others calling for:
(1) ventilation, which works
(2) NIOSH N95 or higher respirators, which work (and my new I just bought in August has a manufacturing date of December 2020, so don't tell me I am using precious PPE reserved for front-line workers when the thing has been sitting in a warehouse for eight months)
and
(3) human-interpretable rapid-antigen testing (e.g., lateral flow assays) (I looked into buying some, but the are available only to CLIA-certified moderate- or high-complexity labs for use only under a physican's prescription...seriously...for something that works like a pregnancy test -- one puts a drop of blood in the test well, adds a drop of buffer solution to the test well, and sees which lines appear. It's about as hard as measuring swimming pool chlorine, which somehow can be done without a prescription and a CLIA-lab certification.)

If the government were serious about ending the pandemic, rather than sowing division among people who might otherwise express their displeasure with the government, the pandemic would be over by now.
