In Response To: Ohio Supreme Court makes State Legislature re-draw districts - Link (Joe Kearns)

Black people apparently "own" a district that was drawn so that black people own a district. Some redistricting group has redrawn districts and did away with the districts that some people "owned" and they are angry.

The redistricting group is bipartisan or non partisan tho.

I just catch it on the radio because I listen to WJR, it is pretty much my only broadcast news source.

On December 28, 2021, the Michigan Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission (MICRC) approved what was named the "Chestnut" map by a vote of 8-5. The vote approving the plan was supported by two Democrats, two Republicans, and four nonpartisan members, with the five remaining commissioners in favor of other plans. As required, the adopted map was approved by "at least two commissioners who affiliate with each major party, and at least two commissioners who do not affiliate with either major party."[5]
